AZ Delta optimizes care environment with LOUDR pod

AZ Delta is a leading hospital in West Flanders, with campuses in Roeselare-Rumbeke, Menen, and Torhout. Every day, more than 4,000 employees dedicate themselves to high-quality care and continuous innovation. Recently, the dialysis department gained a valuable asset: the installation of a LOUDR pod.

A conversation with the dialysis department at AZ Delta

We spoke with Stefaan Maddens, coordinating head nurse, about the impact of the LOUDR pod on daily work and team collaboration.

What has your overall experience with the LOUDR pod been?

Very positive. Our department only had one large meeting room, so we often lacked space for team discussions or one-on-one conversations. The LOUDR Six provides exactly the solution we needed. The pod feels comfortable and perfectly matches the way we work.

“The LOUDR pod provides exactly the solution we needed.”

How often is the pod used?

Every day, by different colleagues. To keep things organized, we even introduced a reservation system. That shows just how great the need for extra space was—and how welcome the pod is.

In which situations is the pod most useful?

Mainly as extra meeting space for short ad-hoc one-on-one discussions or small meetings with multiple people. We also use the pod for conversations with patients, where privacy and calm are essential.

How do you rate the pod’s features?

Everything works perfectly. Ventilation is more than sufficient and the pod is well insulated. The dimmable, double-layer privacy glass ensures discretion and reduces noise. With just one push of a button, the walls switch from transparent to opaque, an excellent feature for confidential conversations.

Has the pod made your work more efficient?

Absolutely. We had already been looking for ways to create extra meeting space and even considered reorganizing our department. Thanks to the LOUDR pod, we didn’t need to make any major infrastructure changes. And since the pod is centrally located, we no longer have to walk all the way to the distant meeting room. That saves time and makes our work noticeably more practical and efficient.

At AZ Delta, LOUDR pods are more than just a practical solution: they reflect the hospital’s forward-looking approach. The positive experience in the dialysis department has inspired other teams to consider how a LOUDR pod could strengthen their own operations.
